By now you will have had the Autumn 2003 newsletter shoved through your letter boxes by the selfless volunteers (@ £7.50/hour).
They have an article about the 'flowerising' at which I offered to help to put a web site together … but no mention of their 'official' web site!
They have had to use the biggest print possible to fill up the six pages. They had very little to say about the past three months. I wonder how much they have spent in that time? This shows how your committee think … all show and no info! This is evident by the expensive paper and full colour printing, with the biggest possible fonts. AND … they had an enclosed advert for a pet care business … (owned by a relation of the committee?)
What is really amazing, is that they have not used this opportunity to let you all know that the 'official' Northlands Park Neighbourhood Committee web site has been launched. Wonder why? See their pathetic offering here. At least the 'web master' is allowing the peasants to have a go. But, she has dissociated herself from their work!
Again … I repeat ….. no mention of that expensive and ineffective web site ….
The chief co-ordinator of the web project, Lee Heley, is not praised for his foresight and initiative.
Heather Wood, advisor to the committee, and mainly concerned with the web project, is not lauded.
Even John McNally, the committee link man for the web project, was not mentioned!
And, surprisingly, the web designer, Lesley Gregg, (related to a member of the committee?), who WON the contract after it was NOT put out to tender, was not thanked. After all, it was her outstanding generosity of doing the project (
and being paid in full before any of the site was uploaded), that clinched the project.Come on you talented people - do not hide your lights under bushels - come out and receive your well earned praise!
Or, perhaps you are planning to let the web project 'wither on the vine' now that it has been milked of funds?
