Problems entering the Chat Room?

If all you see is a grey box when it's done loading, (or nothing happens) try this :-

Please be patient. Depending on your set-up, it can take a minute, or so, for the applet to load.

If you have Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options>Privacy and set the slider to the bottom - "Accept all Cookies"

Then go to Tools>Internet Options>Security>Internet>Custom Level and set the level to Medium (if it is not so).

If you have a Firewall that has Privacy settings, go to its Privacy Control Page and make sure that Cookies are enabled, and "Mobile Code Control" is 'disabled'.

If this does not work then go to Tools>Internet Options look at Temporary Internet files (in the middle) and click on "Delete Files" (in the middle)

After using the Chat Room it is advisable to re-set your Privacy Settings.


The 'official' advice is :-

If you get an error, or if the applet loads incorrectly, you should clear your browser cache, close your browser and try again. The problem is either with your browser, computer, or connection. (sometimes a reboot is necessary)

You must have a Java enabled browser and you can't be behind a proxy server or a firewall that has restricted Java. Your system administrator would have to enable that for you.
