the cross

I am writing this at Easter 2016.

Some five years ago, I had an epiphany at Christmas. Told elsewhere.

A few days ago, while just sitting ruminating, another epiphany ! The thought came to me as to how God/Jesus

 SHOUTED .... nay SCREAMED ............

............ to the world; that  man has no free will !
And no-one seems to have seen the obvious message ?

On the cross, Jesus says, "Father, if it be thy will, let this cup pass from me."  He later says, "Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do."

He is SHOUTING from the cross to the people below, "I am telling you that, I, as a human, have no free will". "My message to you is that no human has free will. All that you do is through the will of God."

In another part of the New Testament, he tells his followers, "Turn the other cheek." He is saying that the offender has no free will.

Do I have to spell it out for you ? You know your bible & you know HIS stories. He never blames the offender. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone !"

If you are a Christian, you CANNOT believe in personal free will. That would be a direct contradiction to HIS message. "Father if it be thy will." Jesus did not have the free will to affect his condition.

God is all powerful; all present & all seeing, so HE is the sole author & planner of all that happens on earth !

Be it life or death, sickness or health; race, religion or politics; man has no free will to affect his actions. God alone has free will & it is HE and HE alone that directs humanity.

Furthermore; ask the question, "Does God know what I'll be doing next Thursday at mid-day ?" As God is all knowing, then it logically follows that he does ! It does not need an Einstein to deduce that if God knows the future, then it MUST be fixed. Therefore it is easier for me to argue for "myriad causal determinism"  to people who believe in God than to those who do not.
